Copyright Infringement and DMCA

It is the policy of Sim Ops Studios to respond to notices of copyright violations. It is our intent and desire to actively resolve copyright disputes and as such we support the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will follow the guidelines as stated on the U.S. Copyright Office Web Site (www.copyright.gov).

After receipt of a valid DMCA notification, Sim Ops Studios will respond by taking down the content. All reasonable steps to notify the content owner of these actions will be taken. Should a counter-notification be filed, we may elect to restore the content unless we receive notice that a legal action has been filed seeking a court order to restrain use of the content on Sim Ops Studios Wild Pockets service or any other service where the content is displayed or distributed.

To file a notification, you must provide a written communication by fax or regular mail - not email. You may be held liable for damages including costs and attorneys’ fees if you misrepresent that the content is infringing your copyrights. We suggest you contact an attorney for guidance.

Please ensure you include the following in your written notification:

  1. Identify in sufficient detail the copyrighted work that you believe had been infringed upon by describing the work that you own. Provide any TM, (C) or other associated information.
  2. Include any location information (web URL, content name, search parameters, etc) that will help locate the item on Wild Pockets.
  3. Provide information reasonably sufficient to permit Sim Ops Studios to contact you (email, phone number, fax, etc)
  4. Provide information if possible on the owner of the allegedly infringing content so as to permit Sim Ops Studios to contact the user(s).
  5. Include the following statement: “I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  6. Include the following statement: “ I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notifications is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  7. Sign the paper.
  8. Send the written communications to the following address

Please note that a copy of your notice will be sent to the owner of the alleged infringing content.



Counter Notification
To file a counter notification, please include the following in your written communications (no email):

  1. 1. Identify the specific content that Sim Ops Studios has removed or disabled access.
  2. Provide your name, address, telephone number, email address.
  3. Provide a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District court for the judicial disrict in the your address is located (or San Francisco, California if your address is outside of the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification to us of the alleged infringement or an agent of such person.
  4. Include the following statement “I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good faith belief that the content identified above was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled."
  5. Sign the paper
  6. Send the written communications to the following address:
